is a work at home company called “new start” a scam?

i received a letter today from a work at home job company called “new start” saying that there is an opening for a job regarding sending letters. they said i would get paid 8.75 for each letter they receive and if i didnt like it, that they would give me back twice the amount that i paid to receive the start up kit. also that i would get a $500 gift certificate if i sent the application in 6 days. they even have a limited amount of openings available. i need to know if this a scam or if this is the opportunity ive been waiting for all my life. i need your opinions on the subject and please be honest. i have been scammed so much that im just loosing it. i have almost given up on ever finding a real work at home job. plz let me know what you think. i appreciate it alot thank you.

You got good reason to suspect that all work at home proposals are scams, becuase in over 90 % of the cases, that is exactly what they are. Get a real job, forget this stuff, and save yourself a lot of grief down the road.
